Exempt street-hail service provider
Subregulation 1
A street-hail industry participant who provides any street‑hail service as follows, and any taxi driver of a taxi used for any street‑hail service as follows, is exempt from sections 41(3)(a) and (5) and 44(1) of the Act with respect to fares for the provision of that street‑hail service if it is provided in the manner described in sub‑paragraph (2):
a Singapore-Malaysia taxi service;
a street-hail service using a wheelchair-accessible taxi for the carriage of any passenger, whether or not travelling in a wheelchair.
Subregulation 2
Every street-hail fare for a street-hail service mentioned in sub‑paragraph (1) must —
be published by the street-hail industry participant providing the street‑hail service concerned —
at least 7 days before the street-hail service is offered or provided to the public at that street‑hail fare; and (ii)in such manner as will secure adequate publicity for that fare among members of the public; (b)be lodged with the Council by that street‑hail industry participant at least 28 days before the street‑hail service is offered or provided to the public at that street‑hail fare; and
in the case of a Singapore-Malaysia taxi service, only be a fixed sum agreed between the hirer and the street‑hail service licensee which owns the taxi.
