Amendment of section 55

Section 55 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “Any police officer or authorised officer” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “Any police officer, authorised officer or such other person as may be authorised by the Board for the purposes of this section (referred to in this section as an authorised person)”;

(b)

by deleting the words “the police officer or authorised officer” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “the police officer, authorised officer or authorised person, as the case may be”;

(c)

by deleting the words “or authorised officer” in subsections (2) and (3)(a) and substituting in each case the words “, authorised officer or authorised person”; and

(d)

by deleting the words “or authorised officer” in the section heading and substituting the words “, authorised officer or authorised person”.
