Clause 23

When search may be made without warrant

Whenever it appears to any senior authorised officer that there is probable cause to believe that in any dwelling-house, shop or other building or place there is concealed or deposited any goods or property liable to forfeiture under this Act, and he has reasonable grounds for believing that by reason of the delay in obtaining a search warrant the goods are likely to be removed, the officer, by virtue of his office, may exercise in and upon and in respect of that dwelling-house, shop or other building or place all the powers referred to in section 22 as if he were empowered to do so by a warrant issued under that section.
