Transitional and savings provision
(1)
Despite anything in this Act, any person who, on the date of commencement of section 11, is providing a telephone betting service or a remote gambling service using any mobile application software and is exempted under the Betting Act (Cap. 21) and the Common Gaming Houses Act (Cap. 49) to provide that service may continue to provide that service —
for 6 months; and
if, within that period in paragraph (a), the person applies for a certificate of exemption under Part 5, the person may continue to do so until the earlier of the following:
the date on which the Minister issues a certificate of exemption to the person;
the date that the application is refused or withdrawn.
(2)
For a period of 2 years after the date of commencement of any provision of this Act, the Minister may, by regulations, prescribe such additional provisions of a savings or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of that provision as the Minister may consider necessary or expedient.
