Clause 10

Rules made under this Part may modify the provisions of this Part in the case of motor vehicles brought temporarily by persons resident outside Singapore and intending to make only a temporary stay in Singapore and such rules may provide for the issue of a permit in respect of a vehicle brought into Singapore from any place outside Singapore authorising the use in Singapore of such vehicle for any specified period.(2) Such rules may prescribe for the levy of a fee for the issue of such permit and for the levy of a tax for the use of such a vehicle in Singapore in accordance with such rates as the Minister may prescribe.(3) Any rates prescribed by the Minister under this section may be so made to apply only to vehicles of a specified class, category or description and the Minister may prescribe different rates for vehicles of different classes, categories or descriptions or for vehicles used for different purposes.”.
