Amendment of section 32
of Road Traffic (Amendment No. 2) Bill
Section 32 of the Road Traffic Ordinance, 1961 (hereinafter in this Act referred to as “the Ordinance”) is hereby amended —
by inserting immediately after subsection (1) thereof the following new subsections: —“(1A) Any person who wilfully furnishes any false or misleading information under subsection (1) of this section shall be guilty of an offence under this Ordinance.
A police officer may require any information to be furnished under subsection (1) of this section to be in writing signed by the person required to furnish such information.”;
by inserting immediately after the word “evidence” appearing in the fifth line of subsection (2) thereof the words “without proof of signature”;
by inserting immediately after the word “evidence” appearing in the seventh line of subsection (3) thereof the words “without proof of signature”; and
by inserting immediately after subsection (3) thereof the following new subsection: —“(4) Any person who is guilty of an offence under subsection (1) or (1A) of this section shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment.”.
