of Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Rules
Subregulation 1
A holder of a taxi licence shall keep a register in which shall be entered —
the registration number of the taxi owned by him;
the particulars of the taxi licence issued to him;
the name and address of every driver thereof, and the particulars of the vocational licence of such driver authorising him to act as a taxi driver; and
the date and time during which the taxi is in the charge of every such driver.
Subregulation 2
The register shall be in such form as the Registrar may require and shall be kept up to date.
Subregulation 3
A person who makes an entry in the register must do so —
in ink; or
electronically, if the Registrar approves the register to be kept electronically.
Subregulation 4
The Registrar or an authorised officer may require the licensee —
if the entries in the register are made in ink — to produce the register at the time and place that the Registrar or authorised officer (as the case may be) may appoint; or
if the entries in the register are made electronically — to produce a physical copy of the register at the time and place that the Registrar or authorised officer (as the case may be) may appoint, or to send an electronic copy of the register at the time and in the manner that the Registrar or authorised officer (as the case may be) may determine.
Subregulation 5
The Registrar or an authorised officer may at any time require the attendance before him of the licensee, or the licensee and any driver referred to in paragraph (1), at such time and place as the Registrar or authorised officer may appoint and examine the licensee or the licensee and the driver with respect to matters under these Rules.
Subregulation 6
Upon a requisition being made under paragraph (4) or (5), the licensee shall produce the register or the licensee and the driver shall attend as so required.
