Regulation 3
Renewal of certificates of entitlement for specified taxis
Subregulation 1
The Registrar may renew the certificate of entitlement for any specified taxi for a period of one year starting on the date of renewal if the following conditions are satisfied prior to the expiry of the term of the certificate of entitlement for the specified taxi:
the additional quota premium in respect of the specified taxi is paid to the Registrar;
the specified taxi is submitted for examination in accordance with the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Test) Rules (R 21) and a test certificate is issued in respect of the specified taxi under rule 10(1)(a) of those Rules.
Subregulation 2
The Registrar may renew a certificate of entitlement for a specified taxi mentioned in paragraph (1) only if the Registrar issues a licence under section 13 of the Act in respect of that specified taxi.
