Amendment of section 293

Clause 70
Section 293 of the principal Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “it appears to the Authority to be necessary or expedient in the public interest to do so” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “it thinks it necessary or expedient in the interests of the public or a section of the public or for the protection of investors”; and
(b)
by deleting subsection (3) and substituting the following subsection:“(3) It shall not be necessary to publish any direction issued under subsection (1) in the Gazette.”.
