Clause 19
Power of entry and inspection
An Inspector appointed under section 18, a senior officer of the Institute authorised in writing in that behalf by the Chairman or a police officer not below the rank of sergeant may between the hours of six o’clock in the morning and six o’clock in the evening enter and inspect, and take samples from, a place where he has reason to believe that there are —
articles or processes in respect of which the Certification Mark or a colourable imitation thereof is being used without a licence;
articles or processes in respect of which the Certification Mark or a colourable imitation thereof is being used which do not conform to the relevant Singapore Standard or other standard;
articles or processes which a person claims conform to a Singapore Standard or any other standard when in fact they do not;
notified commodities purporting to bear the inspection sign of the Institute which were not affixed or applied in the manner provided in subsection (6) of section 17; or
notified commodities which are about to be exported by a person without a certificate therefor as required under subsection (8) of section 17.
