Amendment of section 5
of Strategic Goods (Control) (Amendment) Bill

Clause 4
Section 5 of the principal Act is amended ––
(a)
by deleting paragraph (a) of subsection (1) and substituting the following paragraph:“(a)export, tranship or bring in transit any strategic goods;”;
(b)
by inserting, at the end of subsection (1)(b), the word “or”;
(c)
by deleting the word “; or” at the end of subsection (1)(c) and substituting a full-stop;
(d)
by deleting paragraph (d) of subsection (1);
(e)
by inserting, immediately after subsection (3), the following subsection:“(3A) Subsections (1) and (2) do not apply to any technology in the public domain.”; and
(f)
by deleting the words “or maintenance” in subsection (4)(a) and substituting the words “, maintenance or repair”.
