Flight recorders — construction, installation and continued serviceability
Subregulation 1
An AOC holder must ensure that every flight recorder required to be installed on a large aeroplane in accordance with regulations 117, 118, 119 and 120 is constructed, located and installed so as to provide maximum practical protection for the recordings in order that the recorded information may be preserved, recovered and transcribed.
Subregulation 2
An AOC holder must ensure that every flight recorder mentioned in paragraph (1) meets the requirements specified by the Director‑General of Civil Aviation in Aviation Specifications 2 — Flight Recorders for the respective type of flight recorders in respect of —
crashworthiness and fire protection;
performance;
parameters or information to be recorded;
duration of recording; and
continued serviceability.
