Regulation 35

Use of aerodromes

Subregulation 1

Before authorising the use of an aerodrome for any flight of a large aeroplane, an AOC holder must ensure that the aerodrome is adequate for the aeroplane type and for the type of operation concerned.

Subregulation 2

Before the commencement of any flight of a large aeroplane, the AOC holder must, as part of its safety management system, assess the level of rescue and fire fighting service protection (called in this regulation RFFS protection) available at every aerodrome specified in the operational flight plan for the flight to ensure that an acceptable level of protection is available for the aeroplane.

Subregulation 3

An AOC holder must ensure that the following matters are specified in its Operations Manual:

(a)

every aerodrome to be used in its operations;

(b)

information that relates to the level of RFFS protection that is acceptable to the AOC holder.
