Operations beyond 60 minutes to en‑route alternate aerodrome
Subregulation 1
Subject to regulation 44, an AOC holder must ensure that for any flight of a large aeroplane that is intended to operate beyond 60 minutes from a point on the route to an en‑route alternate aerodrome —
the en-route alternate aerodromes are identified;
the flight crew is provided with the most up-to-date information on identified en‑route alternate aerodromes, including operational status and meteorological conditions; and
where the aeroplane is powered with 2 turbine engines, the information provided to the flight crew under sub‑paragraph (b) indicate that conditions at the identified en‑route alternate aerodromes will be at or above the AOC holder’s established aerodrome operating minima for the operation at the estimated time of use.
Subregulation 2
An AOC holder must not conduct any flight of the description in paragraph (1) unless —
the operational control is exercised by the AOC holder;
the relevant operating procedures are specified in the Operations Manual;
the aeroplane is dispatched in accordance with the flight dispatch procedures specified in the Operations Manual; and
the flight crew for that flight are appropriately trained.
