Citation and commencement
This Order is the Small Motorised Vehicles (Safety) (GIBSON — Exemption) Order 2026 and comes into operation on 1 June 2026.
Definitions
In this Order —“specified person” means —
a person authorised by the Singapore Police Force established under section 3 of the Police Force Act 2004;
the Home Team Science and Technology Agency established under section 3 of the Home Team Science and Technology Agency Act 2019;

A*STAR Research Entities (UEN 199702110H);“specified personal mobility device” means a personal mobility device that —
has 4 wheels;
is equipped with an electric motor which propels it;
is designed to be used for patrolling; and
is known as the GIBSON.
“specified person” means —
a person authorised by the Singapore Police Force established under section 3 of the Police Force Act 2004;
the Home Team Science and Technology Agency established under section 3 of the Home Team Science and Technology Agency Act 2019;

“specified personal mobility device” means a personal mobility device that —
has 4 wheels;
is equipped with an electric motor which propels it;
is designed to be used for patrolling; and
is known as the GIBSON.
Exemption
A specified person is exempt from section 8A of the Act in respect of the keeping of a specified personal mobility device if the specified person establishes and applies appropriate internal policies, procedures and controls to ensure that the specified personal mobility device —
is kept or stored in a place and in a manner which does not materially increase the likelihood of fire, or the danger to life or property that would result from the outbreak of fire, at the place; and
is kept or stored securely, is not lost or stolen, and does not come into the possession of someone who is not authorised to keep the specified personal mobility device.
