Acquiring weapon during weapons supplier transitional period

Subregulation 1

A person is exempt from section 33(2) of the Act for acquiring, or taking part in the acquisition of, any non‑arms weapon from a supplier who is, at the time of the supply, exempt under paragraph 2(4) from section 32 of the Act.

Subregulation 2

In this paragraph, “non‑arms weapon” means any weapon that is not any of the following:

(a)

a bayonet, sword or dagger;

(b)

a spear or spearhead;

(c)

an arrow with any of the following points:

(i)

a broadhead tip;

(ii)

a field arrow tip;

(iii)

a blunt arrow tip;

(iv)

a grabbing arrow tip;

(v)

a fishing arrow tip;

(d)

an arbalest;

(e)

a device (commonly called a crossbow) consisting of a bow fitted transversely on a stock that has a groove or barrel, designed to direct an arrow or a bolt;

(f)

a bow with a draw weight of more than 27.215 kilograms.
