Appointments and qualifications of Magistrates and Coroners

Clause 10
(1)
The President may, on the recommendation of the Chief Justice, appoint any fit and proper person to be a Magistrate or a Coroner.
(2)
No person shall be appointed to be or to act as a Magistrate or a Coroner unless he has been for not less than one year a qualified person as defined in section 2 of the Legal Profession Act, 1966 (Act 57 of 1966).
