Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Widows’ and Orphans’ Pension (Amendment) Act, 1965, and shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of April 1965.

This Act may be cited as the Widows’ and Orphans’ Pension (Amendment) Act, 1965, and shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of April 1965.
Amendment of section 2
Section 2 of the Widows’ and Orphans’ Pension Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (c) of the definition of “public servant” appearing therein and by inserting immediately thereafter the following new paragraph: —“(d)in the service of the Government before the 2nd day of March 1961, who becomes restricted by law to one wife at a time on or after the 1st day of April 1965, unless, within one month from the date he becomes so restricted, he gives notice in writing to the Directors of his desire to become a contributor, whereupon the provisions of this Ordinance shall apply to him from the date of such notice;”.
