Clause 34

Amendment of section 108

The Women’s Charter is amended by renumbering section 108 as subsection (1) of that section, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following subsection:“(2) To avoid doubt, subsection (1) does not prevent any provision of this Act from being construed, for the purposes of the rules of private international law, as —

(a)

a forum mandatory provision; or

(b)

representing a fundamental public policy of Singapore.”.
