Regulation 53

Subject to these Rules, no member of the staff in a place of safety shall inflict any kind of corporal punishment on any girl in the place of safety.

The term “corporal punishment” for the purposes of paragraph (1) includes striking, cuffing, shaking or any other form of physical violence.

Any member of the staff who commits a breach of this rule shall render herself liable to instant dismissal.
