Costs
The plaintiff is the mother-in-law of the defendant. The plaintiff has two children: a daughter, who is married to the defendant, as well as a son. In DC/DC 3616/2016, the plaintiff brought a claim for: (a) $140,000, being the sum that the defendant had agreed to pay to the plaintiff; or alternatively (b) the ownership of Wee Wee Laundry Service (“WWLS”) to be transferred to her. The defendant brought a counterclaim for: (a) $127,500, being the fees payable pursuant to an alleged consultancy agreement between the parties (“the Consultancy Agreement”); and (b) $72,200, being the cost of deploying additional labour to carry out the plaintiff’s duties during the period between January 2013 and May 2015, or any such sum to be assessed.
