In Public Prosecutor v Rizuwan bin Rohmat [2021] SGDC 219, the district judge (“the DJ”) sentenced the respondent to, inter alia, a fine of $8,000, or, in default of that, four weeks’ imprisonment, and a period of disqualification from holding or obtaining all classes of driving licences of 24 months for a charge under s 35(1) of the Road Traffic Act (Cap 276, 2004 Rev Ed) (“the RTA”). I shall refer to this as the “s 35 Charge”.
