Definitions
In this Order —“emergency” means an actual or imminent event that causes, or threatens to cause —
any harm or danger to the life, health or safety of any individual;
any destruction of, or damage to, any property; or
any harm or danger to the health or safety of the public;“hours of darkness” means the time starting 7 p.m. and ending 7 a.m. the following day, both times inclusive;“lorry crane” means a lorry incorporating an articulator arm mounted on the lorry which is used for loading, unloading and lifting of materials or goods;“public event” means any event that is open to the public or a section of the public;“Public Utilities Board” means the Public Utilities Board continued under section 3 of the Public Utilities Act (Cap. 261);[Deleted by S 24/2025 wef 17/01/2025]“specified motor vehicle” means a motor vehicle other than any of the following:
a motorised personal mobility device;
a power‑assisted bicycle;
a motorised wheelchair;
a mobility scooter;
an automatic detection device that has wheels, a motor and is constructed to drive itself;
a robotic machine designed to move and operate independently of human control when the computer that controls it is programmed;
a motor vehicle that is constructed to drive itself;
a boom lift;
a forklift;
a scissor lift;“specified path” means any footpath or shared path delineated by a black-coloured line, or within shaded areas bounded by black-coloured lines, in the maps set out in the Schedule;“specified purpose” means any of the following purposes:
to transport any individual or thing in connection with a public event;
to transport any individual or thing in connection with any maintenance works;
to transport any individual or thing in connection with the enforcement of the Public Utilities (Reservoirs, Catchment Areas and Waterway) Regulations 2006 (G.N. No. S 401/2006);
to carry out maintenance works;
to respond to an emergency.[Deleted by S 24/2025 wef 17/01/2025]
