False representation
Subregulation 1
Any person —
who is conducting or is proposing to conduct a fund-raising appeal for any foreign charitable purpose; or
who is acting on behalf of a person who is conducting or is proposing to conduct a fund-raising appeal for any foreign charitable purpose,and who represents to any employee, agent or collector (whether voluntary or otherwise) that anything required or permitted by these Regulations to be done, or any condition to the fund-raising appeal to be complied with, as the case may be, has been done or complied with, when it has not in fact been done or complied with, as the case may be, shall be guilty of an offence.
Subregulation 2
A person who is guilty of an offence under paragraph (1) shall be liable on conviction —
to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both; and
in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding $100 for every day or part of a day during which the offence continues after conviction.
