Advertising by CAB designated by Designating Authority
of Consumer Protection (Conformity Assessment) Regulations 2025
Subregulation 1
A CAB designated by the Designating Authority must not advertise or otherwise represent its designation in any way that suggests or implies any of the following:
that the CAB is entitled to certify or test any product for conformity to any requirement for which the CAB is not designated;
that the Designating Authority is responsible for any service provided by the CAB or that the CAB is an agent or a representative of the Designating Authority;
that the product the CAB is designated to certify or test is approved by the Designating Authority for any particular use.
Subregulation 2
A CAB whose designation has been suspended or withdrawn under Part 4 must immediately discontinue any advertisement relating to its designation, and must not make any further advertisement or other representation as to that designation.
