38. Power to label for identification

Any authorised officer may, where he or she considers it necessary for the purposes of identification, label permanently or temporarily, any consignment of plants or plant products.
(2)
Any person who wilfully counterfeits, alters, defaces, erases or removes any such label shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both.
