Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Coroners (Minister’s Certificate) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 2 May 2023.
Request for Minister’s certificate
For the purpose of section 17A(1)(b) of the Act, a foreign State’s request for a Minister’s certificate to be issued must —
be made by a diplomatic agent of the foreign State or a consular officer of the foreign State; (b)be sent —
by hand to the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1 Sherwood Road, Tanglin, Singapore 248163; or (ii)by email to mfa_duty_officer@mfa.gov.sg; and (c)include the information mentioned in paragraph (2).
The foreign State’s request must include —
the deceased’s name, nationality and passport number or foreign identification number; (b)the name, designation and contact details of the diplomatic agent or consular officer making the request;
a statement of —
which provision of section 17A(1)(a) of the Act the foreign State considers is applicable in respect of the deceased; and
the reasons for requesting the release of the deceased’s body; and
any supporting document for the statement mentioned in sub‑paragraph (c).
