Electricity (Electrical Installations — Exemption) Regulations 2021 is Singapore Subsidiary Legislation, cited as Subsidiary Legislation EA-S502-2021 2001, currently marked in force and first recorded in 2001.
Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Electricity (Electrical Installations — Exemption) Regulations 2021 and come into operation on 6 July 2021.
Definitions
In these Regulations —“electric vehicle” means a vehicle that is —
propelled wholly or partly by electricity (whether or not designed or adapted to be capable, in at least some circumstances or situations, of safely driving itself); and
equipped with an electric rechargeable energy storage system which can be recharged externally,and includes electric cars, electric buses and high‑powered electric motorcycles;“fixed electric vehicle charger” means any equipment that is an electrical installation for charging electric vehicles;“fixed electric vehicle charger with detachable cables” means any fixed electric vehicle charger with Mode 3 (Case B) specifications, and includes —
its associated control boxes and devices; and
its associated detachable cables;“high‑powered fixed electric vehicle charger” means any fixed electric vehicle charger —
with Mode 4 specifications;
with a power rating of more than 200 kW; and
that is powered by low voltage Direct Current (DC) not exceeding 1500V d.c. between conductors or 900V d.c. between each conductor and Earth,and includes —
its associated control boxes and devices; and
its permanently-connected charging cable;“LTA” means the Land Transport Authority of Singapore established under the Land Transport Authority of Singapore Act (Cap. 158A);“pantograph fixed charger” means any fixed electric vehicle charger with extendable pantographs and includes its associated control boxes and devices;“sandbox trial” means a trial conducted by the LTA under a set of terms and conditions issued by the LTA to an owner, a manufacturer or an operator of any fixed electric vehicle charger specified in the Schedule, to test the suitability and safety of that fixed electric vehicle charger for general use.
“electric vehicle” means a vehicle that is —

equipped with an electric rechargeable energy storage system which can be recharged externally,and includes electric cars, electric buses and high‑powered electric motorcycles;
“fixed electric vehicle charger” means any equipment that is an electrical installation for charging electric vehicles;
“fixed electric vehicle charger with detachable cables” means any fixed electric vehicle charger with Mode 3 (Case B) specifications, and includes —
its associated control boxes and devices; and
its associated detachable cables;
“high‑powered fixed electric vehicle charger” means any fixed electric vehicle charger —
with Mode 4 specifications;
with a power rating of more than 200 kW; and
that is powered by low voltage Direct Current (DC) not exceeding 1500V d.c. between conductors or 900V d.c. between each conductor and Earth,and includes —
its associated control boxes and devices; and

Exemption from regulation 13(1) and (2) of Electricity (Electrical Installations) Regulations
Regulation 13(1) and (2) of the Electricity (Electrical Installations) Regulations (Rg 5) does not apply to a licensed electrical worker in relation to a fixed electric vehicle charger of a type specified in the Schedule that is installed under a sandbox trial.
