Amendment of section 7

Section 7 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:“(1) Any person who desires to obtain or to renew a licence shall make an application to the Commissioner in such form as the Commissioner may require, which shall be accompanied by the prescribed application fee.”;

(b)

by deleting the words “grant a licence with or without conditions or refuse to grant a licence” in subsection (2) and substituting the words “grant or renew a licence with or without conditions or refuse to grant or renew a licence, as the case may be”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(2A) If the Commissioner decides to grant or renew a licence under subsection (2), he may do so upon the payment of the prescribed fee.”; and

(d)

by inserting, immediately after subsection (3), the following subsection:“(4) The Commissioner may, if he so deems fit, debar any person from applying for or being granted a licence for such period of time as may be determined by the Commissioner.”.
