reg 1Citation and commencement

This Notification is the Extradition (International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism) Notification 2022 and comes into operation on 1 July 2022.

reg 2Definitions

In this Notification, “Convention country” and “relevant offence” have the meanings given by section 33(8) of the Terrorism (Suppression of Financing) Act 2002.

reg 3Application of Extradition Act 1968 to Convention countries

For the purposes of section 40(1) of the Extradition Act 1968 and section 33(5) of the Terrorism (Suppression of Financing) Act 2002, the Extradition Act 1968 (except for Parts 5 and 6) applies in relation to any Convention country specified in the Schedule in respect of any person accused of or convicted of a relevant offence of that country.

reg 4Cancellation

The Extradition (International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism) Notification (N 2) is cancelled.
