Citation and commencement
This Order is the Foreign National Emblems (Control of Display) (FIFA World Cup 2026 — Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2026 and comes into operation on 29 June 2026.
Replacement of paragraphs 3 and 4
In the Foreign National Emblems (Control of Display) (FIFA World Cup 2026 — Exemption) Order 2026 (G.N. No. S 406/2026), replace paragraphs 3 and 4 with —“Exemption for owner, etc., of venue
3. The following persons are exempt from section 3 of the Act in respect of the display of any flag specified in the Schedule for the duration between 29 June 2026 and 20 July 2026 (both dates inclusive) at a place where a live broadcast of one or more football matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 is provided, or allowed to be provided, to the public or a class of the public by a person who is the owner, tenant, lessee, occupier or person in charge of that place:
any owner, tenant, lessee, occupier or person in charge of that place;
any individual who is employed or engaged by a person mentioned in sub‑paragraph (a) to display the flag.Exemption for person watching or observing live broadcast
4. A person is exempt from section 3 of the Act in respect of the display of any flag specified in the Schedule at a place mentioned in paragraph 3 for the duration of a football match mentioned in that paragraph if the person —
is watching or observing the live broadcast of the football match; and
is not a person mentioned in paragraph 3.”.
Amendment of Schedule
In the Foreign National Emblems (Control of Display) (FIFA World Cup 2026 — Exemption) Order 2026, in the Schedule, replace the Schedule reference with —“Paragraphs 3 and 4”.
