Definition
In this Order, “FIFA World Cup 2026” means the international football tournament that is organised by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association and is held during the period from 11 June 2026 to 20 July 2026 (both dates inclusive).
Exemption for owner, etc., of venue
Subject to the conditions mentioned in sub‑paragraph (2), section 3 of the Act does not apply to the display of any flag specified in the Schedule for the duration between 26 June 2026 and 20 July 2026 (both dates inclusive) by a person who is the owner, tenant, lessee, occupier or person in charge of a place where a live broadcast of one or more football matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 is provided, or allowed to be provided, to the public or a class of the public by the person.
The exemption in sub-paragraph (1) is subject to the following conditions:
the flag is displayed in connection with the live broadcast of the football match or matches mentioned in sub‑paragraph (1);
the person mentioned in sub-paragraph (1) must not supply, distribute or otherwise provide any flag to any person except for the purposes of decorating the venue in relation to the live broadcast of the football match or matches.
Exemption for person watching or observing live broadcast
Subject to the conditions mentioned in sub-paragraph (2), section 3 of the Act does not apply to the display of any flag specified in the Schedule at any place mentioned in paragraph 3(1) by a person who —
is watching or observing the live broadcast of a football match mentioned in paragraph 3(1); and
is not a person mentioned in paragraph 3(1),for the duration of the football match.
The exemption in sub-paragraph (1) is subject to the following conditions:
the person mentioned in sub‑paragraph (1) must not display a flag of a state other than the 2 states represented in the football match;
the person mentioned in sub‑paragraph (1) must not supply, distribute or otherwise provide any flag to any person.
