The Director-General or an authorised officer who proposes to exercise powers under this Part in relation to a searchable place may require the relevant person in relation to the place to provide reasonable assistance to the Director‑General or authorised officer in relation to the exercise of those powers.

Any relevant person who refuses or fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply with the requirement in subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
