Regulation 28
Orders to remedy or mitigate damage
If —
(a)
a person has contravened section 25, 26 or 27 of the Act in relation to hazardous or other waste; and
(b)
the Director‑General is satisfied that the contravention resulted in the waste causing significant injury or damage to human beings or the environment, the Director‑General may, in writing, order the person to take such steps as the Director‑General thinks proper to remedy or mitigate the damage at the expense of that person.
