Registration of registered renovation contractors
Subregulation 1
Every application for registration or renewal of registration as a registered renovation contractor shall be —
made to the Board in such form and manner as the Board may determine; and
accompanied by —
such documents and particulars as the Board may require; and
a fee of $100.
Subregulation 2
The Board may, in its discretion and subject to any terms and conditions, register or renew the registration or refuse to register or renew the registration of the applicant.
Subregulation 3
As a condition of registration, every registered renovation contractor shall deposit and maintain with the Board for the period of his registration a security deposit for the due performance of his obligations in the form of a performance bond, banker’s guarantee or other form of security approved by the Board for an amount of $10,000 or such lesser amount as the Board may specify.
Subregulation 4
Unless forfeited, the security deposit shall be returned or refunded, as the case may be, to the registered renovation contractor upon the expiry of his registration.
