Section 39B
Minister may designate others to hear appeals
(1)
The Minister may designate any of the following persons to hear and determine, in the Minister’s place, any appeal or a specific appeal under section 8(6), 10(5), 11(6), 14(6), 29(7) or 33:
the Second Minister (if any) for his or her Ministry;
any Minister of State for his or her Ministry;
any Parliamentary Secretary to his or her Ministry.
(2)
Any reference to the Minister in section 8(6), 10(5), 11(6), 14(6), 29(7), 33 or 39A includes a reference to a person designated under subsection (1).

To avoid doubt, in this section —
Definition
“Minister of State” includes a Senior Minister of State;
Definition
“Parliamentary Secretary” includes a Senior Parliamentary Secretary.
