Citation and commencement

Infrastructure Protection (Photography of Protected Areas and Protected Places — Exemption) Order 2024 is Singapore Subsidiary Legislation, cited as Subsidiary Legislation IPA-S186-2024 2017, currently marked in force and first recorded in 2017.
Citation and commencement
This Order is the Infrastructure Protection (Photography of Protected Areas and Protected Places — Exemption) Order 2024 and comes into operation on 7 March 2024.
Definitions
In this Order —“contractor” means a person engaged to provide goods and services, otherwise than under a contract of service, by another person;“Singapore Land Authority” means the Singapore Land Authority established under the Singapore Land Authority Act 2001;“specified person” means —
a contractor (A) engaged by the Singapore Land Authority to conduct an aerial mapping exercise of Singapore; or
any of the following persons acting on A’s behalf for the conduct of the aerial mapping exercise:
an employee of A;
a sub-contractor engaged by A;
an employee of a sub-contractor engaged by A;“sub‑contractor” means a person engaged to provide goods and services, otherwise than under a contract of service, by a contractor.
“contractor” means a person engaged to provide goods and services, otherwise than under a contract of service, by another person;
“Singapore Land Authority” means the Singapore Land Authority established under the Singapore Land Authority Act 2001;
“specified person” means —
a contractor (A) engaged by the Singapore Land Authority to conduct an aerial mapping exercise of Singapore; or
any of the following persons acting on A’s behalf for the conduct of the aerial mapping exercise:
an employee of A;
a sub-contractor engaged by A;
an employee of a sub-contractor engaged by A;
“sub‑contractor” means a person engaged to provide goods and services, otherwise than under a contract of service, by a contractor.
Exemption from section 29(1) of Act
Section 29(1) of the Act does not apply to a specified person who takes a photograph of a protected area or a protected place if the photograph is taken —
in accordance with the directions of the Singapore Land Authority;
during the period from 7 March 2024 to 28 February 2025 (both dates inclusive); and
for the sole purpose of conducting the aerial mapping exercise mentioned in the definition of “specified person” in paragraph 2.
