Immunities and privileges of members of professional staff of Fund
Subregulation 1
A member of the professional staff of the Fund enjoys immunity from personal arrest or detention and from seizure of his or her personal baggage, except insofar as in any particular case that immunity is waived by the Fund.
Subregulation 2
A member of the professional staff of the Fund enjoys the like exemption or relief from the following taxes as is accorded to an envoy of a foreign sovereign Power accredited to the Republic of Singapore, except insofar as in any particular case any such privilege is waived by the Fund:
all vehicle taxes (including any additional registration fee and any fee for a certificate of entitlement);
radio and television licence fees;
subject to sub‑paragraphs (3) and (4), customs duties on all dutiable goods;
where the member of the professional staff is the Resident Representative, foreign domestic worker levy in respect of one foreign domestic worker employed by the member.
Subregulation 3
Any member of the professional staff of the Fund who imports for his or her personal use any furniture and effects more than 6 months after he or she first takes up his or her appointment in Singapore may not enjoy the exemption or relief from the tax mentioned in sub‑paragraph (2)(c) in respect of the furniture and effects.
Subregulation 4
Where any member of the professional staff of the Fund has enjoyed the exemption or relief from the tax mentioned in sub‑paragraph (2)(c) in respect of any motor vehicle, he or she does not enjoy that exemption or relief in respect of any other motor vehicle imported by him or her within 4 years from the date on which he or she imported the firstmentioned motor vehicle.
Subregulation 5
Despite anything in this Order, no immunity or privilege under this paragraph may be enjoyed by any person who is a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore.
