Citation and commencement
This Order is the Interpretation (Delegations by Minister for Law) (Amendment) Order 2026 and comes into operation on 18 August 2026.
New paragraph 1A
In the Interpretation (Delegations by Minister for Law) Order 2024 (G.N. No. S 136/2024) (called in this Order the principal Order), after paragraph 1, insert —“Definitions1A. In this Order —“MinLaw political office holder” means —
any Second Minister for Law;
any Minister of State assigned by the Prime Minister to assist the Minister for Law; and
any Parliamentary Secretary assigned by the Prime Minister to assist the Minister for Law;“Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Law” means any Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Law.”.
Amendment of First Schedule
In the principal Order, in the First Schedule, in the third column, replace “Any Second Minister for Law” wherever it appears with “MinLaw political office holder”.
Amendment of Second Schedule
In the principal Order, in the Second Schedule, after item 2, insert —“2A.Community Mediation Centres Act 1997(1)Section 4Appointment of Director of Community Mediation CentrePermanent Secretary, Ministry of LawNil(2)Section 8(1) and (2)Appointment and revocation of appointment of mediator, determination of mediator’s remuneration and approval of Code of ConductPermanent Secretary, Ministry of LawNil(3)Section 16Evaluation of Community Mediation CentrePermanent Secretary, Ministry of LawNil”.
