Clause 27

by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:“(1) All advocates and solicitors shall be subject to the control of the Supreme Court and shall be liable on due cause shown —

to be struck off the roll;

to be suspended from practice for a period not exceeding 5 years;

to pay a penalty of not more than $100,000;

to be censured; or

to suffer the punishment referred to in paragraph (c) in addition to the punishment referred to in paragraph (b) or (d).”;

by deleting the words “Disciplinary Committee” in subsection (6) and substituting the words “Disciplinary Tribunal”; and

by deleting the words “or suspend or censure” in the section heading and substituting the word “, etc.”.
