More than half of the total number of seats on the governing body of a designated entity must be occupied or held by Singapore citizens.
However, if the governing body of a designated entity has fewer than 3 seats, all the seats must be occupied or held by Singapore citizens.
If the competent authority is satisfied that —
the composition of the governing body of a designated entity is in contravention of subsection (1) or (2); and
it is necessary or expedient to pre‑empt, prevent or reduce any foreign influence that may undermine racial harmony in Singapore, the competent authority may direct the designated entity to comply with subsection (1) or (2) by removing a specified number of members of its governing body who are not Singapore citizens.
