cl 13Amendment of section 41

In the MPA Act, in section 41(1) —

(a)

in paragraph (b), after “vessel”, insert “or maritime device”; and

(b)

after paragraph (i), insert —“(ia)regulating, directing and controlling the use of maritime devices within the limits of the port and the approaches to the port, including the circumstances and the conditions under which maritime devices are permitted to be controlled or operated remotely or independently of human intervention, whether fully or partially;

(ib)

regulating and directing the navigation of maritime devices within the limits of the port and the approaches to the port, including directing that maritime devices being operated without human intervention are to be remotely operated by a human operator;

(ic)

the information to be supplied by persons operating or using any maritime device within the limits of the port and the approaches to the port;”.
