cl 14Amendment of section 43

In the MPA Act, in section 43 —

(a)

in the section heading, after “vessel”, insert “and maritime device”;

(b)

in paragraph (c), delete “and” at the end;

(c)

in paragraph (d), replace “and the areas which are prohibited or restricted areas.” with “; and”; and

(d)

after paragraph (d), insert —“(e)regulate, direct, restrict or prohibit the movement or use of maritime devices in the port and the approaches to the port, including —

(i)

specifying the circumstances and the conditions under which maritime devices are permitted to be controlled or operated remotely or independently of human intervention, whether fully or partially; and

(ii)

directing maritime devices that are being operated without human intervention to be remotely operated by a human operator.”.
