Establishment of National Library Board Endowment Fund
of National Library Board Act 1995
(1)
A fund called the National Library Board Endowment Fund is established, which vests in the Board and consists of —
all moneys received by the Board by gifts, bequests or otherwise for the Fund;
any contributions to the Fund that the Minister may specify from moneys provided by Parliament; and
any other moneys that the Board may decide to transfer to the Fund.
(2)
The income of the Fund is to be applied for all or any of the following purposes:
the provision of training programmes and scholarships for librarians and persons working in libraries;
the delivery of lectures by distinguished persons in the field of library and information science;
the sponsorship of major library promotional programmes;
the financing of research on reading and librarianship;
any other purposes consistent with this Act that the Board may decide.[23
