These Rules may be cited as the Newspaper and Printing Presses (Applications and Permits) Rules 2004 and shall come into operation on 28th May 2004.

Subregulation 1

Suggest a correction

Every application for a permit under section 21 of the Act to print or publish, or assist in the printing or publishing of, any newspaper in Singapore shall be made by the applicant in such form as the Minister may, from time to time, direct.

Subregulation 2

Suggest a correction

Every application —

(a)

for a permit under section 22 of the Act to publish, sell, offer for sale or distribute in Singapore any newspaper printed in Malaysia; or

(b)

for a permit under section 23 of the Act to sell or distribute, or import for or possess for sale or distribution, any offshore newspaper in Singapore,shall be made by the applicant in such form as the Minister may, from time to time, direct.

Every permit issued under section 21, 22 or 23 of the Act shall be substantially in the form set out in the Schedule.
