Regulation 24
Post-retirement medical benefits
Subregulation 1
Any of the following members of the 2001 Scheme may be granted post-retirement medical benefits based on the medical scheme applicable to him prior to his retirement if he has retired from the service on any of the grounds specified in regulation 11 and has served not less than 10 years of reckonable service:
a member of the 2001 Scheme who has previous pensionable service immediately prior to his conversion to the 2001 Scheme under regulation 33; or
a member of the 2001 Scheme who was appointed to the public service on or before 6th December 1984 and would have been eligible to an annual allowance under the Pensions Act 1956 had he retired from the public service prior to his conversion to the 2001 Scheme under regulation 33.
Subregulation 2
In paragraph (1), “reckonable service” includes any period of full-time national service under section 12 of the Enlistment Act 1970.
