Clause 20

The principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 55, the following section:“Offence to furnish false information55A. Any person who furnishes information which he knows or believes to be false in any application made under this Act or any subsidiary legislation made thereunder shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.”.
