59. Composition of offences

The Board may —

“Board” means the Public Utilities Board reconstituted under the Public Utilities Act in force before 1 April 2001 and continued by section 3;
compound any offence under section 45A by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $10,000; and
compound any other offence under this Act that is prescribed as a compoundable offence by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $3,000.
The Board may, with the approval of the Minister, make regulations to prescribe the offences which may be compounded.
All sums collected under this section must be paid into the Consolidated Fund.
