23. Written directions

The Director‑General may, by written notice, issue directions to any person for the purpose of facilitating any inspection under this Part.

“Director-General” means the Director‑General of Environmental Protection appointed under section 3(1) of the Environmental Protection and Management Act 1999;

Any person who, without reasonable excuse, contravenes any direction given by the Director‑General under subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $50,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.[22
