Regulation 42C

Subregulation 1
This rule applies to every vehicle fitted with all or any of the following:
(a)
an internal combustion engine;
(b)
an electric traction motor;
(c)
a traction battery.
Subregulation 2
Any internal combustion engine, electric traction motor or traction battery fitted in the vehicle must not be replaced with another internal combustion engine, electric traction motor or traction battery, respectively, unless the replacement is approved (or deemed to be approved) by the Registrar under rule 12B of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules.
